Removable prosthetics

The removable dental prosthesis is a removable appliance used to replace missing natural teeth.

It ensures faster intervention and manufacturing of the device, but a lower level of comfort than other solutions.
This also involves a period of progressive mouth adaptation and the patient’s commitment to daily removal to perform oral hygiene operations.

Who is the intervention for?

This type of prosthesis represents a more traditional and economical alternative, usually used in patients with an advanced age, or as a temporary prosthetic solution in care plans that require bone regeneration.

Disadvantages of the removable prosthesis

Removable prostheses present some issues to be taken into consideration, therefore the patient must:

  • Remove the prosthesis after each meal and perform a thorough cleaning of the prosthesis;
  • Pay close attention to oral hygiene to avoid the formation of caries in adjacent teeth or infections and inflammation in the gum on which the prosthesis rests;
  • Pay attention to avoid chewing hard

If the removable prosthesis is not the solution to your problems, you can consider the options of the fixed and semi-fixed prosthesis.
